Simple test:

Go to the transfer thread and look at the list of players that have come in, and the list of players that have left.

Which is the better list?

(Hint: it's the first one)

The people calling for Allardyce to go, got what they wanted, it was always going to take anyone a fair bit of work to try and change it around? Rafa included, we want us to play a certain way which weren't playing, with a lot of players Allardyce bought,

Can't understand why anyone thinks that easy or doesn't take time? It does, why do we all expect to win all our games, we played well vs arsenal, 2nd half vs leicester and bournemouth, so its 2 good performances from 3, defend like we did on Saturday, doesn't matter who's manager does it.

Stop panicking ffs, if the players play like we know they can, and get behind Bilic, we'll be fine.

Im sure the board and management want the best players coming here, Hernandez for example, Utd won't sell , you can only buy whose available without having silly money to offer like chelsea or city, we got Payet because he agreed to come, and just as important marseille accepted our offer.

It's also pretty pathetic writing off players after 1 or 2 bad games

What's Ipswich got to do with anything?

Not sure I go with the idea that you have to have competition to get the best out of you. Lots of players, not necessarily great ones either, had good careers without anyone breathing down their necks.

Cresswell kept Mings out of the left-back berth with ease at Ipswich, but the pressure was there.

Lets be honest here, you'd never heard of Cresswell before last summer, so I'm not really sure why you don't seem to think an "unknown young Scottish kid from Hamilton" could also make the step up and give him competition.

So surely IF Cresswell continues to play poorly then the right thing for the manager to do is drop him for Hendrie.

Still remind me again who Cresswell had pushing him for his place last season?

Hoped that we would get a quality manager, ship out some fringe and strengthen notably.

We've shipped out a few, and we have bought one or two worthwhile players, but we are no stronger in management, and weaker across the squad in general.

Way too much to fix without panic acquisitions in the time left, IMO.

The players we have need to be improved and unified into a hard to beat outfit. No evidence that Bilic can do any of that, but hope he can. The occasional upset won't get us 42 points.

Who did Cresswell have breathing down his neck last season?

I reckon his form has dropped this season (along with Jenkinson) because he's got no one else in front of him, and opposition managers simply have to tell their players to double up on him.

I bet Cresswell is really worried about his place with an unknown young Scottish kid who came from Hamilton breathing down his neck.

He may turn out great. But we don't have REAL competition there at all.

IMO its another area of weakness within the squad, although certainly not the most pressing problem at the moment

Because the revenue loss will be so great this time and I cannot help but think there will be a time when we will not bounce back in a few seasons, Also, I am approaching the latter stages of life and want the chance to see us at least being able to compete, win something again. Everton's standing woudl be enough for me now before I get into my casket. :-)

How about last season Martyn Glover was a crocked useless cunt and Tony Henry was the 2nd coming of Christ?

It's also amazing how last season it was BFS fault for everything bad and this season it's the owners fault.

Sorry but my knickers are sodden and I need another pair now.

Are you feeling confident that we will secure the players in the next week or if not that our squad will not be embroiled in a relegation fight?

I wish I could feel the same. I just don't. Nowt really to do with a spine more to do with not wanting to endure another stressful year worrying we are going to drop through the trap door again. Seen too many ofthose years and want things to cvhange I suppose :-)

Amazing how quickly Downing's gone from weak hearted, useless bottle job to a massive loss

We are treading water and by standing still we are actually going backwards as most other sides have strengthened especially those who finished around us last year.

Said from the outset that losing Downing would be a big blow for us. On his day gave us lots of pace on the counter attack which was a great outlet last season.
